The most common cause of fire in a 944 is due to the main fuel line leaking on a hot exhaust.
This main line is aging and will crack, leakage can happen suddenly.
Save us your dramatic story of losing your beautiful 944 and replace this line this season. Eventually it has to happen sometime.
Our new high pressure XL fuel line is extra long so it no longer runs above the hot exhaust but runs along the top of the bulkhead and also has a black heat resistant outer jacket. Really a nice solution.

This hose is due to its length also suitable for the models < 85 and 924S. Here the fuel line runs up the driver's side. See the last pictures for this. The line can then be laid under the nozzle which is nicer and also prevents the fuel rail connections from cracking. This is in fact a common problem. A car lift is required for assembly.
