928 RDK tyre pressure sensor nuts
From 1990, the Porsche 928 is equipped with modern tyre pressure sensors RDK (Reifen Druck Kontrol) that monitor tyre pressure.
Two sensors are fitted per wheel. A special tool is needed to dismantle the sensors. During disassembly, the aluminium nuts may deform due to the fact that they have been fixed for more than 30 years.
Re-powdering your wheels will require dismantling the sensors. We can perform this for you.
With these new nuts, you can reassemble the sensors correctly.
The nuts are coated with an anodising layer which gives them extra long protection against corrosion, unlike the original nuts. Even if the nut is still good for reuse, it is still wise to use our new nuts.
Now also available with:
De- and assembly
To remove the sensors, first remove the tyre from the rim then use a special Porsche tool to remove the sensor. (see illustration) . If the nuts are very corroded, the nut can be ground through with a dremel, see film.
According to the Porsche manual, the tightening torque of the fixing nut is 20 Nm
