Porsche 928 power steering high-pressure hose LHD 1977-1984

New high-pressure hose for the power steering of the Porsche 928. This hose is suitable for left-hand drive LHD models from 1977 to 1984, up to and including the Porsche 928 S2.

The hose runs from the power steering pump to the steering box. This part replaces Porsche part number 92834744702 / 928 347 447 02.

The original power steering hose is often more than 40 years old. Due to age, heat, and high pressure, the rubber can dry out. The hose can then crack, sweat, or start leaking.

In case of leakage, there can be ATF fluid (this is flammable) in the engine bay and even on the hot exhaust.

Difference between the early and later model power steering pump

This high-pressure hose is suitable for Porsche 928 models with the early type power steering pump. From 1985 a different model power steering pump is installed. Therefore, this hose does not fit the later version.

The difference can be easily visually checked from the top of the engine bay:

• On the early model power steering pump the fill hose from the reservoir to the pump is located on the front of the pump.
• On the later model power steering pump the fill hose from the reservoir to the pump is located on the rear of the pump.

When should you replace the Porsche 928 power steering pump hose?
