By replacing both mounts at the same time, you avoid having to do the work again later.

When should you replace the Porsche 928 engine mounts?
Worn or sagging engine mounts are often recognizable by extra vibrations in the bodywork, especially at idle. The engine may also feel less smooth while driving. Because this develops gradually, many 928 drivers get used to the vibrations and only notice the difference after replacement.

Always replace both engine mounts
For the Porsche 928, it is highly recommended to replace both engine mounts at the same time. Removing and installing takes relatively much time, and when one engine mount has sagged, the other is usually also worn or weakened. By renewing both mounts immediately, the engine stands straight again and vibrations are evenly absorbed.
This prevents extra work afterward and ensures the best result after installation.
Installation tip: steel line from the steering rack
During installation, it may happen that a steel line from the steering rack touches the engine mount. This can be easily resolved by carefully bending the line slightly to create enough space.
Another solution is to shorten the stud of the engine mount on that side by about 5 mm before installation. This creates extra space and prevents the line from touching the engine mount.
Always check after installation that there is enough free space around the engine mount and the steering rack line.
