The most common cause of fire in a 944 is due to the main fuel line leaking onto a hot exhaust.
This main line ages and starts to develop cracks; leakage can happen suddenly.
Save us your dramatic story of losing your beautiful 944 and replace this line this season. Eventually, it has to be done.
Our new high-pressure fuel line XL is extra long so that it no longer runs over the hot exhaust but runs along the top of the bulkhead and is also equipped with a black heat-resistant outer sheath. Truly a great solution.

Due to its length, this hose is also suitable for models < 85 and 924S. In these, the fuel line runs upward on the driver's side. See the last photos for this. The line can then be routed under the spray piece, which looks nicer and also prevents the fuel rail connections from cracking. This is a very common problem. A car lift is required for installation.
