928 RDK tire pressure sensor nuts
From 1990, the Porsche 928 is equipped with modern tire pressure sensors RDK (Reifen Druck Kontroll) that monitor tire pressure.
Each wheel has two sensors installed. Special tools are required to remove the sensors. During removal, the aluminum nuts may deform because they have been fixed for over 30 years.
For powder coating your wheels again, the sensors must be removed. We can perform this for you.
With these new nuts, you can correctly install the sensors again.
The nuts have an anodized layer, providing extra long protection against corrosion compared to the original nuts. Even if the nut is still good for reuse, it is advisable to use our new nuts.
Now also available with:
Disassembly and assembly
To remove the sensors, the tire must first be taken off the rim, then the sensor can be disassembled using special Porsche tools (see image). If the nuts are heavily corroded, they can be cut through with a rotary tool; see the video.
According to the Porsche manual, the tightening torque for the fastening nut is 20 Nm
