This turbo from Evergreen is the perfect upgrade for your K26. It surpasses the K27-8 from the Turbo S.
Mounting is easy since it uses the turbine side (hot side) of the original K26 turbo.
When ordering this turbo, we ask you to send your old K26 turbo with the parts shown in the picture.
Raptor Series Turbochargers, based on the original KKK K-26 Turbochargers, only reuse the turbine housing and bearing housing. The turbine housing is machined and shaped for our lightweight 58mm turbine wheel that has 9 blades and delivers very fast boost response. The beauty of this turbine setup is that you can use the #6 turbine housing with this larger lightweight turbine wheel or the #8.
The #6 will reach boost quite aggressively around 2500 RPM and produce about 350 HP with approximately 17 lbs of boost.
The #8 boost response is closer to 2800 RPM and reaches the 400 HP mark.
The billet K-27 compressor section supplies airflow into the engine and features a super-efficient design. This brings the older turbo design into the future of high-tech turbos. There isn’t a single customer who doesn’t love the performance of this turbocharger. Also, since this is a turbo no one else makes, the turbine design reduces back pressure with a #6 turbine housing at 17 lbs boost to about 24 lbs back pressure. That’s just over a 1:1 ratio, which is excellent for a gasoline turbo application. And that’s with the #6 turbine housing! This was a wonderful surprise during testing with the Porsche shop. The bearing housing is line bored plus .005 or .010 to ensure the bores are perfectly parallel and within the .0003 tolerance allowed by KKK. The seal area is also machined if it’s not within standard specs, up to plus .010, with twin seals.
