Innovative 2-in-1 Camshaft Gear (with +2° and +4° Offset)
This newly developed camshaft gear offers a fixed offset of both 2 degrees and 4 degrees. By simply rotating the gear 180 degrees, you switch positions. A smart and cost-effective 2-in-1 design. And the price is even lower than a new original camshaft gear. In addition to our popular fully adjustable camshaft gear, we now introduce this innovative alternative.
Why adjust the camshaft timing?
The crankshaft drives the camshaft via the timing belt. In many classic Porsche 924S and 944 engines, the original camshaft timing is no longer optimal after decades.
Common causes are:
- Flattened cylinder head after overhaul

Wear of hydraulic lifters causing slower response
By subtly shifting the keyway in this camshaft gear, you optimize the position of the camshaft relative to the gear. With this fine-tuning, the intake valves open just a little earlier. This results in immediate power gain.
Proven results on the dynamometer (Dyno)
Our test measurements show clear differences compared to the original setup:
- +4 degree setting: Provides the most torque up to about 5000 rpm. This results in a noticeable increase of 10 Nm compared to the original.
- +2 degree setting: Also offers a significant torque improvement up to 5000 rpm. Above this speed, the +2 degree setting wins, resulting in the highest peak power in hp.
Which setting do you choose?
- For street use: The +4 degree position is the best choice for extra low-end torque.
- For the track (racing): The +2 degree position is the best choice for maximum power at high RPM.
The camshaft sprocket has the original markings on both sides. This keeps installing the timing belt simple, regardless of which position you choose.

Installation information
- Installation time: About 1 hour.
- Procedure: When replacing the sprocket, the timing belt must be removed and retensioned.
- Tip: You can ideally combine this upgrade with periodic maintenance, such as replacing the timing belt.

Installation information
Installation time is approximately 1.5 hours. (about 2.5 hours for 944 Turbo)
During installation, the timing belt must be removed and then correctly tensioned again. Therefore, this is an ideal upgrade during timing belt maintenance, cylinder head work, or other work at the front of the engine.
Have the installation done by someone experienced with Porsche 944 timing belts if you are not confident doing it yourself.
Does the timing belt need to be loosened?
Yes. The timing belt must be loosened and correctly tensioned again after installation.
