Innovative 2-in-1 Camshaft Pulley (with +2° and +4° Offset)

This newly developed camshaft pulley offers a fixed offset of both 2 degrees and 4 degrees. Simply turn the pulley 180 degrees to switch positions. A smart and cost-effective 2-in-1 design. And the price is even lower than that of a new original camshaft pulley. Alongside our popular fully adjustable camshaft pulley, we are now introducing this innovative alternative.

Why adjust the camshaft timing?

The crankshaft drives the camshaft via the timing belt. In many classic Porsche 924S and 944 engines, the original camshaft timing is no longer optimal after decades.

Common causes include:

  • Machined cylinder head after refurbishment
  • Wear of the hydraulic lifters, causing them to respond more slowly

By subtly repositioning the keyway in this camshaft pulley, you optimize the camshaft's position relative to the pulley. This fine-tuning causes the intake valves to open slightly earlier. This results in an immediate increase in power.

Proven results on the dyno

Our test measurements show clear differences compared with the original setting:

  • +4-degree position: Provides the most torque up to approximately 5000 rpm. This results in a noticeable 10 Nm increase compared with the original.
  • +2-degree position: Also provides a significant torque improvement up to 5000 rpm. Above this engine speed, the +2-degree position wins, resulting in the highest peak horsepower.

Which position will you choose?

  • For road use: The +4-degree position is the best choice for extra low-end pulling power.
  • For the track (racing): The +2-degree position is the best choice for maximum power at high rpm.

The camshaft pulley features the original timing marks on both sides. This keeps fitting the timing belt simple, regardless of which position you choose.

Installation information

  • Installation time: Approximately 1 hour.
  • Procedure: When replacing the pulley, the timing belt must be removed and tensioned again.
  • Tip: This upgrade is ideal to combine with scheduled maintenance, such as replacing the timing belt.

    Installation information

    Installation takes approximately 1.5 hours. (approximately 2.5 hours for the 944 Turbo)

    During installation, the timing belt must be removed and then correctly tensioned again. This makes it an ideal upgrade to perform during timing belt maintenance, cylinder head work, or other work at the front of the engine.

    Have the installation carried out by someone experienced with Porsche 944 timing belts if you are not confident doing this yourself.

    Yes. The timing belt must be removed and correctly tensioned again after installation.
