You rarely need mirror motors, but it's nice when they work. And this motor is super quiet.
This is our in-house-made remake of another model, allowing us to offer you a cheaper alternative with exactly the same quality as the original.
It is supplied as shown in the photo, with a new connector holder without a rubber housing. It is easy to transfer, requiring only 3 small Phillips-head bolts.
Removing the glass can sometimes be a little difficult. This is done from underneath. Through the hole on the underside, you can turn the retaining ring with a flathead screwdriver. Tip: spray penetrating oil behind the mirror. First position the mirror in the center so that the slot is visible through the hole. And now the most important part, to loosen it, push the retaining ring to the right with the screwdriver. This applies to both the driver's mirror and the passenger's mirror. Sometimes you need to slide it back and forth a few times before it comes loose properly after more than 30 years.
This mirror motor is for mirror glass with ring mounting. This type has been found on the 944, 928, and 911 since 1985. Older models have mirror glass with 3 prongs; they use a different type of mirror motor than this one.
