Porsche 928 air intake tube set 16V / 32V | 92811027204
New air intake tubes for the Porsche 928, supplied as a set of 2. These tubes replace the original air intake tubes that run along the engine to the air filter housing.
This product has been completely redesigned. The new design is cleaner, neater, and more attractive than the original design. This makes the set a good fit for maintaining and restoring a well-presented Porsche 928 engine bay.
The original Porsche 928 air intake tubes are often old, soft, cracked, or deformed. As a result, they can partially collapse under hard acceleration or at full power. The engine then receives less air and may hesitate.
Cracked original tubes are difficult to repair neatly. A repair often remains visible, making the engine bay look less well maintained. This new set gives the engine bay a clean and tidy appearance again.
At Cars & Coffee meetings, events, and workshop visits, the hood is regularly opened. New air intake tubes give the Porsche 928 engine bay a much more attractive and well-kept appearance.
The set is available for Porsche 928 models with a 16V engine and Porsche 928 models with a 32V engine.

Important fitment information
These Porsche 928 air intake tubes are available in two versions.
The 16V version is intended for Porsche 928 models with a 16V engine, such as the 928 S and 928 S2.
The 32V version is intended for Porsche 928 models with a 32V engine, such as the 928 S3, S4, GT, and GTS.
On the Porsche 928 GTS, the diameter of the air intake tube is smaller than on the S, S2, and S3. The air guides on the radiator are also positioned at a different angle. Therefore, the design has been adapted to ensure a good fit for each engine type.
Always check before ordering whether you need the 16V or 32V version.

When should this part be replaced?
The original Porsche 928 air intake tubes are often several decades old. Heat, age, and movement in the engine bay can cause them to become soft, cracked, or deformed.
An old, soft air intake tube can partially collapse under hard acceleration. This reduces the amount of air reaching the engine and can cause hesitation at full power.
Replacement is recommended if you notice these symptoms:
-
The air intake tube has become soft
-
The tube collapses under hard acceleration
-
The engine hesitates at full power
-
The tube is cracked or damaged
-
The engine bay looks messy or dated
-
A repair with adhesive tape does not improve its appearance
Cracked air intake tubes are difficult to repair neatly. A new set is usually the better solution for a reliable and well-presented result.
Installation information
The air intake tubes are located at the front of the engine bay. They run between the air guides and the air filter housing.
Installation is simple and can be carried out without tools. During installation, check that the tubes connect properly and distribute the ribs evenly. Fit the supplied caps to the timing belt cover.
Pay attention to the selected version during installation. The 16V and 32V versions are adapted to the shape and diameter required for the relevant engine type.
The opening for the timing belt cover ventilation has been removed from this new design. In practice, this connection has little function and often creates a weak point in the original hose. Two caps are supplied to close this hole.
