The original housing of the tailgate lock may crack or break.
This part is no longer available new from Porsche.
We took on the challenge and completely redesigned it. After many prototypes, we created this very strong model made of carbon-reinforced plastic.
This allows you to transfer your own lock cylinder into this new housing.
Watch the video we made for you showing the disassembly, as well as the video showing the assembly. It is not very difficult to do, but working accurately is important. The video shows the model without an alarm. The model with an alarm is slightly more difficult to assemble.
Assembly instructions for lock with alarm: important tips!
When installing the lock cylinder, it is important to secure it with the original screw or the additional screw supplied. The lock cylinder must no longer be able to rotate in the housing; the screw must prevent it from turning.
The small cover through which the cable runs is reused. You can secure it in the lock again with the two small screws supplied. Make sure the cover sits properly. You may need to tighten it with water-pump pliers.
The shaft must be deformed on one side. Use a hammer and a larger center punch to strike the indentation and create a slight deformation so that the shaft can no longer slide out sideways.
We recommend replacing the spring and the white plastic locking piece at the same time.

Suitable for every 928 with activation/deactivation of the factory alarm via the tailgate.
We have redesigned both tailgate locks:
- Model without alarm
- Model with alarm
The difference is visible on the outside because the alarm requires a cable. The housing is wider on the alarm model.
