The PSD (Porsche Limited Slip Differential) system is designed to activate the limited slip differential within a reaction time of a few milliseconds.
The system consists of several components that are unfamiliar to many. This makes repairs risky, and since the pump operates at a working pressure of 180 bar with a pressure vessel at 60 bar, it truly requires specialist expertise.
The PSD system is rarely activated nowadays because we often only drive on nice summer days and no longer experience wheel slip. As a result, maintenance is sometimes neglected. This causes the system to become contaminated and potentially seize. The pressure pump is always briefly activated when turning the ignition key. However, the pump only receives a light coating of grease during assembly and cannot be lubricated further.
Diagnosing whether the PSD system is working:
Find a safe spot where one rear wheel is on the shoulder and the other wheel is on the asphalt. Accelerate firmly, and the wheel on the shoulder may slip. If the PSD system engages correctly, you can drive off without slipping. This is also a good way to keep the system functioning properly.
Enough reason to have the system thoroughly overhauled before it’s really too late.
Overhaul
The system is completely disassembled, repaired, reassembled, pressure tested, and undergoes 250 test cycles.

Exchange system
You can choose our PSD exchange system or send in your own unit for overhaul.
The deposit for our PSD system is 1500 euros. This will be refunded after we receive your unit. Upon receipt, we check if it is complete and undamaged. Any defects will be discussed with you. The refund amount may be adjusted accordingly. Despite the sometimes poor condition of the system, in most cases we manage to repair everything. If in doubt, we will overhaul your system immediately.
Option 1 (preferred)
You send your old PSD to us, we inspect it. If it is reusable, we send you our overhauled MAF. No deposit required.
Option 2 (fastest)
You purchase our overhauled PSD and pay an additional 1500 euros as a deposit. We ship our PSD to you immediately. Please choose DPD shipping.
After receiving your PSD, we check if it is still complete and reusable. If there is serious damage, we will contact you. 90% of all PSDs can be overhauled. If everything is in order, we refund your deposit.
Option 3 (slowest)
You send your PSD to us. We overhaul your own PSD and send it back to you. Turnaround time 2 - 3 weeks.
