Replace your fuel dampers and pressure regulators in time for optimal performance and safety.
It often happens unexpectedly, but it does: a defect in your fuel system. You can check this defect by removing the vacuum hose and smelling it. If you smell or see fuel, the diaphragm is leaking. Fuel dampers are often overlooked and the original parts may still be installed.
Due to aging and the use of incorrect fuel, such as E10 (which contains bio-ethanol), the diaphragms of the dampers can become damaged. During long periods of inactivity, the material degrades, and when reused, the diaphragm tears. This results in increased fuel consumption because fuel leaks through the damaged diaphragm and is drawn directly into the engine via the vacuum hose.
Availability per model:
-
S4: Two dampers and one pressure regulator
-
S3: Two dampers and one pressure regulator
-
S2: One damper and two pressure regulators
What do the parts do?
-
Fuel dampers dampen the pressure waves that occur when the injectors are operated simultaneously.
-
Pressure regulators ensure that the fuel pressure in the injector line remains constant for optimal engine performance.
We recommend replacing all three parts at the same time for better operation of your fuel system.
