Idle problem 928 S3 85-86, ECU Repair

The 5.0 liter 32V S3 model sometimes has a persistent problem with controlling the idle speed.

The engine then runs either at too high or too low an idle speed. After the engine warms up, the idle speed sometimes drops so low that the engine nearly stalls.

The problem can be a defective or stuck stepper motor or, as we have discovered, the ECU.

The ECU controls the idle speed by driving the stepper motor for the idle speed. Increasingly, we see that a component inside the ECU is defective.

We have been able to purchase these old components and now offer a repair service for them.

You can order this service here and then send your ECU to us yourself. We will handle the repair and return it within a maximum of 3 working days.

Not satisfied? You can cancel your order within 14 days of receipt, without giving a reason. After cancellation, you have another 14 days to return the product. Send us an email at info@garagedeloods.nl to register your return. The full amount, including shipping costs, will be refunded. The costs for the return shipment are at your own expense.
