The 5.0 liter 32V S3 model sometimes has a persistent idle speed control problem.
The engine then either runs too high an RPM or too low an RPM, After the engine warms up, the RPM sometimes drops so low that the engine almost stalls.
The problem may be a faulty or stuck stapsengine or as we discovered, the ECU.
The ECU controls the RPM by driving the idle speed stepper motor. More and more often we see that in the ECU a component is defective.
We have been able to source these old components and now offer a repair service for these.
You can order this service here and then send us your ECU yourself. We take care of the repair and return within a maximum of 3 working days.
