Old engine mounts have sagged so the vibrations of the engine are no longer well damped. The engine feels less smooth, at idle it is easy to feel but also while driving. You slowly get used to it and that is why the difference when you replace them is so great and a fantastic experience.
The first engines (4.5) have a straight engine mount where the lateral forces are absorbed with dampers. This requires modifications to make this mount fit.
We have sold over 160 sets of them and have also assembled over 80 sets ourselves.
Sometimes a Volvo engine mount is used, but it is too weak for this application,
